Per information found in the permit, the one story building will be new construction, with the total cost of the work projected to be $1.5 million.

The new eatery will make the second Firebirds Wood Fired Grill in Columbus, with one currently open at 8760 Sancus Blvd, at Polaris Towne Center.

“We’re excited to be opening another Columbus area restaurant. We’re in the early stages of development, with construction to begin within the next eight weeks,” Eleni Kouvatsos, senior director of communications with the restaurant chain, shared in an email to What Now Columbus.

The restaurant chain is based in Charlotte, North Carolina and currently has locations in over 20 states. Guests can find lunch and dinner items, as well as weekend brunch offerings at the eatery. The menu focuses on wood grilled selections such as grilled salmon benedict or a brunch burger, which is a patty adorned with a fried egg, both are offered during brunch. Classic brunch cocktails bloody mary, espresso martini, mimosas and bellinis are also available during brunch.

Lunch selections include seared ahi tuna, burgers, soups and salads and dinner entrees are centered around proteins like steak, chicken and seafood, as well as pastas. The eatery also features a dessert menu with choices ranging from chocolate cake to crème brûlée cheesecake and a brownie served à la mode.

Although the company isn’t ready to share a specific opening date for the Westerville location, Kouvatsos said they’re aiming for the eatery to open by the end of 2024.
