A new restaurant and bar is preparing to shake up the Short North dining scene this summer. Black Sheep Kitchen & Spirits is set to open at 1124 N. High St., taking over the former Bristol Republic space.

The concept comes from Brian Swanson, the name behind local favorites like Bodega and Worthington Tavern, and will be led by Misty Linn, owner of District West, in collaboration with the West family. Described as “unapologetically rooted in community,” the new spot will be LGBTQIA+-owned and operated, aiming to create a space where everyone feels welcomed and celebrated.

Guests can expect brunch, lunch, and dinner menus with a chef-driven edge, alongside strong cocktails, DJ sets, live performances, and a few surprise visits from the West family themselves. While an exact opening date hasn’t been revealed, Black Sheep promises a lively, inclusive experience that’s anything but ordinary.
