According to recent reporting, independent coffee shop Colin’s Coffee will soon have a new home, located inside The Daily Growler at 2812 Fishinger Rd in Upper Arlington. The move comes after Colin’s Coffee had to close its location at 3714 Riverside Dr in August due to the Golden Bear Shopping Center’s demolition in order to make way for a new $78 million mixed-use development.

What Now Columbus spoke with Colin Gawel, owner of Colin’s Coffee, who shared how much he appreciates that The Daily Growler, owned by John Blakely, is operated with “a small business mindset,” which Gawel also shares. Another plus to the new location is that there will be plenty of room for guests to hang out, both inside and on the patio.

And after spending 20 years in the previous location, Gawel is looking forward to embarking on the new venture, and welcoming customers to the new home of Colin’s Coffee.

“It was too good of an opportunity to not give it a try. I think it’s going to be a good fit,” Gawel said.

The coffee shop will offer a variety of espresso drinks, made with Crimson Cup Coffee, along with a small food menu that will include baked goods such as bagels and pastries. If all goes as planned, Colin’s Coffee is slated to begin operating inside The Daily Growler by the middle of October.
