According to recent reporting, BB.Q Chicken is planning to open a second location in Columbus at 878 Bethel Rd. The international fried chicken chain concept just opened at 17 E Lane Ave in March.
The two existing Columbus franchise locations are owned by Anne and Chul Kim, who also own Korean eatery Diaspora in Columbus. What Now Columbus confirmed with the owners that they’re opening a second location, but they declined to comment when asked about the expected opening date of the Bethel Rd. location.
As the company’s website explains, BB.Q doesn’t stand for barbecue, instead it is an acronym for “Best of the Best Quality” and the company’s website boasts that their product is Korean fried chicken that’s crispier, juicier, and more tender than “anything you’ve tasted before.”
The menu offers a taste of various iterations of fried chicken, from boneless tenders without sauce, to wings and boneless fried tenders tossed in Korean-inspired sauces ranging from sweet, to smokey, to extra spicy. In addition to chicken, there’s also Korean dishes available such as ddeok-bokki, street food made from rice cakes and fish cakes, and kimchi fried rice.
