Johnson’s Real Ice Cream continues a period of rapid growth with plans for a new scoop shop in Lewis Center, set to open in spring 2026. Founded in Bexley in 1950, the longtime Columbus-area ice cream brand has expanded quickly over the past two years, tripling its number of locations and opening three new shops in 2025 alone.

The upcoming Lewis Center location will open at 5915 Evans Farm Drive within the Evans Farm community. The shop will offer Johnson’s full lineup of classic and seasonal ice cream flavors, along with signature sundaes, ice cream cakes, novelties, and grab-and-go pints designed for both in-store visits and take-home treats.

The expansion reflects continued momentum for one of the region’s oldest ice cream makers as it grows beyond its original footprint while maintaining a neighborhood-focused approach. Once open, the Lewis Center shop will add another local gathering spot to Evans Farm and further extend Johnson’s presence across Central Ohio.
