According to recent reporting, Kura Revolving Sushi Bar is coming to Columbus. The international sushi chain will be located at 8833 Lyra Dr. in Polaris. A public relations manager with the chain tells What Now Columbus that they expect to open in early 2024, but that timing is subject to change.

The eatery offers a unique dining experience that combines authentic Japanese dishes made with high-quality ingredients and technology. Each Kura Revolving Sushi Bar features a two-layered conveyor belt that circulates throughout the restaurant full of various dishes which allows customers to pick and choose their dish of choice as it passes by.

Some of the other technology in place at the restaurant are the tablets in each booth and counter space where customers can place their orders and peruse the 140 item menu, while drink orders are delivered by a robot called Kur-B the KuraBot.

Some of the sushi plate offerings include rolls, hand-rolled seaweed and soy paper sushi, along with nigiri options. The menu also features miso soup and noodle dishes like udon and ramen, and a number of desserts such as mochi and Japanese-style soy milk donuts.

Kura Revolving Sushi Bar began in Japan in 1977 before expanding to the US in 2008 and currently operates over 500 locations in Japan, Taiwan and the United States. When the chain opens in Polaris, it will be Kura Revolving Sushi Bar’s first location in Ohio.
