One taproom which opened 12 years ago has turned into a popular chain in Southwest Ohio.
The owners of MadTree Brewing announced on Monday the second Alcove restaurant is coming to Summit Park at 1000 Summit Place, Suite A in Blue Ash. It will be MadTree’s fourth location in Ohio, this time going in the former Brown Dog cafe space. Co-owner Brady Duncan told What Now Columbus the opening date is estimated to be sometime this summer.
Madtree’s Alcove restaurant at 1410 Vine Street in Cincinnati’s Over the Rhine neighborhood is a space serving beer, cocktails and an elevated menu with brunch and lunch options. For happy hour, the spot offers appetizers and entrees like their single smash burger. The new location is set to offer the same options.
“Guests will love stepping into the nook of nature alongside the 130-acre world-class park. Alcove is a natural fit at Summit Park,” said VP of Experience & Impact Rhiannon Hoeweler in a press release. The new space will feature a private event space and patio, along with the signature greenhouse bar.
The owners also operate brewery locations in Cincinnati’s Oakley neighborhood and at their Parks & Rec spot on Glendale Milford Road. It was started in 2013, and has become known as a destination for tasty lagers and IPAs, with minimal impact on the environment when produced. One of the ways they look out for the environment is sending 100% of their spent grain to feeding local livestock.
Brown Dog Cafe closed in December last year and served the area for around 27 years. The building sits at the corner of Summit Place and Summit Parkway, next to TAHONA Taqueria + Tequila Bar. This is a developing area of Blue Ash, as concepts across the street include Sugar n’ Spice, Sebastian Bakehouse and Higher Gravity bar.
