Maple Street Biscuit Company aims to open a second Columbus-area store by the end of this summer and has more Ohio locations planned, according to company representatives.

After opening its first Ohio location in January on 1310 Polaris Parkway near Polaris Fashion Place, the Florida-born brunch brand will open its next restaurant on 7105 N. High St. in Worthington this year. Since 2012, the company has offered Southern comfort food with a modern twist, making its biscuits and coffee in-house daily. The brand has more than 50 locations across Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, North Carolina, Ohio, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas and Virginia.

The company was acquired by Cracker Barrel in 2019 in an all-cash transaction of $36 million. All stores are currently corporate-owned but the company is looking to franchise in the near future, Polaris’ community leader Chris Carter says.

The company is coveted for its biscuit sandwiches, including fan favorites such as the Food Network-featured “Squawking Goat” made with battered chicken strips, toasted goat cheese and homemade pepper jelly; the “Extreme B&G” made with maple sausage meatball, two biscuits, and two eggs covered in its special sausage or shiitake gravy; and the “BAM! Yo-Yo” asiago-bacon waffle made with crispy battered chicken strips and maple syrup. Shareable sides including potatoes and breakfast meats are available.

Partnering with the Tennessee-based company Muletown Coffee Roasters to make its housemade coffee, it offers specialty drinks including its signature maple vanilla latte and unlimited maple street coffee. It also offers freshly squeezed orange juice used in its mason jar mimosas.
