A new dining experience blending American, Caribbean, and African flavors is coming to downtown Columbus. The owner of The Dish African Restaurant & Bar, a well-loved spot on the North Side, are preparing to open the new concept, Kiza, at 155 North Fifth Street, with doors expected to open late spring or early summer.
The new restaurant will serve a diverse menu featuring American classics like steak, mac and cheese, mashed potatoes, steamed veggies, and fried chicken, alongside Caribbean staples such as jerk chicken, rice, and steamed cabbage. For African cuisine lovers, dishes will include tilapia, goat meat, rice and stew, and potatoes, bringing a rich variety of flavors to the downtown food scene.
Beyond the food, the restaurant aims to be more than just a place to eat. Plans are in motion to include a full bar, with the potential to add a hookah lounge in the future. The name, inspired by a visit to Dubai, reflects the global influences that shape the restaurant’s vision.
With a successful North Side location already established, this expansion will introduce more Columbus diners to the bold and comforting flavors of African and Caribbean cuisine.
