A bold take on Mexican cuisine is coming to the neighborhood near Short North.
From reports, K Vida is a new restaurant coming to 119 E 5th Avenue on the north side of Italian Village. This will be replacing Zaftig Brewery which closed in mid-2023. The opening date is set for sometime this summer.
The business first took to social media on Jan. 18 to announce that the restaurant is coming to the neighborhood. This is a concept restaurant described as “the evolution of Mexican dining in Columbus.” A menu has not yet been released, but a recent video on their Facebook page shows enchiladas, steaks with rice, shrimp and calamari being prepared.
“Handcrafted dishes, authentic flavors and a vibrant dining experience–made for those who love great food and great moments,” says the description on Facebook.
The restaurant is being built at the corner of E 5th Avenue and Summit Street, next to Artisan Pizza Cafe. This is just a couple blocks east of Short North Arts District, a culturally rich area of Columbus with many bars, restaurants and art galleries. K Vida will also be across the street from Del Baggio Pizzeria.
The owner of the restaurant is Abraham Macias. What Now Columbus is awaiting comment from Macias on the opening date and more information on the concept. For news on the opening date, visit their Facebook page or Instagram @kvidacbus.
