As recently reported by Columbus Business First, retro themed bar 16-Bit Bar + Arcade, located at 254 S 4th St, will move into the two-story building that houses Pins Mechanical Co., located at 141 N 4th St. Both 16-Bit and Pins are owned by Rise Brands and while the company hasn’t released an official date for relocating 16-Bit Bar + Arcade, Rise did confirm in the previous article its intentions to renovate the two-story building it purchased earlier this year.
The relocation of 16-Bit and the Pins renovations will happen instead of moving both concepts to a space at The Peninsula, as the company had intended to do when they previously announced they would be part of the development. The company points to multiple factors, including delays with second phase of the development, as reasons for the decision to not be part of the project.
In lieu of moving, Rise Brands has announced that it will utilize the 5,000-square-foot second floor that it isn’t currently using. The arcade bar is on a month-to-month lease at its current home at 254 S 4th St, according to information in the article, so the move could possibly happen once the renovations are complete.
With a focus on retro arcade-style video games like Donkey Kong and Pac-Man, 16-Bit Bar + Arcade got its start in Columbus in 2013 and the bar has resided at its current address since its opening. The establishment offers innovative cocktails with names that reference pop culture, as well as offering a selection of beer, wine and mocktails.
