The Jerk Spot is set to join Budd Dairy Food Hall’s rotating Hatch incubator on Tuesday, February 4, at 4 p.m. This new concept features a menu rich with aromatic bold flavors, unique blends of spices and fresh, locally sourced ingredients.
Led by Owner and Executive Chef Troy Wheat, the Jerk Spot is characterized by its infusion of Jamaican and Caribbean cuisine. Heralding 20 years of experience in the culinary field, Wheat gained most of his culinary training with Cameron Mitchell Restaurants.
“The Jerk Spot is thrilled to be showcased at Budd Dairy Food Hall, giving the community a chance to indulge in our robust Caribbean flavors paired with exceptional customer service,” said Wheat in a statement.
The love for Jamaican and Caribbean food inspires The Jerk Spot’s team to share their passion with customers and bring the Caribbean island experience right to their dinner table. The Jerk Spot prides itself on consistency and presentation. The meals are a statement from the heart, Wheat shares.
The Jerk Spot’s menu features its signature Jerk Chicken and Oxtail seasoned with exclusive Jerk Rub & Jerky Paste. The Oxtail is marinated in an intentionally curated blend of Jamaican spices and delicately smoked. The distinct menu incorporates robust flavors that bring a taste of the Caribbean to Columbus. Experience a variety of unique Caribbean delights featuring fresh, vibrant ingredients like pineapple, sweet peppers, jackfruit and more.
“We are thrilled to have Troy Wheat join us here at Budd Dairy Food Hall. Troy was one of the future leaders with Cameron Mitchell Restaurants who helped explore and flesh out the idea of this food hall when this journey began over six years ago. Now we get to have Troy as the owner and operator of his very own concept, The Jerk Spot, to join our Hatch incubator,” said Jeremy Hughes, General Manager of Budd Dairy Food Hall.
