It is being reported Urbana Cafe is temporarily moving from the Atlas Building to the arts center at 44 E 6th Street downtown. The coffee shop will be open in the arts center for about a year-and-a-half, and another location at the new convention center is said to be coming in the near future. Owner Daniel Noguera is hoping to open the new cafe around April.

Currently, Urbana is only based in Cincinnati, with five locations in city limits. The first cafe was opened by Noguera in 2013 at Findlay Market in the Over The Rhine neighborhood, and he also operates a mobile cart business. The cafe opening at the Contemporary Arts Center will still be their fifth location as it will be a temporary replacement.

The locations’ menus are focused primarily on coffee, with both hot and cold brews like espressos, macchiatos and flat whites. At the Atlas Building, the shop has served small bites like scones, banana bread and toast. Many of the same menu items can be expected at the arts center.

Urbana Cafe will serve coffees and small bites in the lobby of the arts center, making it a prime location as the museum receives a high amount of foot traffic. Meanwhile at the Atlas Building, a major renovation project will be one to add 67 apartments. It will be open seven days a week.

After renovations happen, Noguera will return to the company’s established home at the Atlas Building. What Now Columbus has reached out to Noguera, and this article may be updated.
