Wolf’s Ridge Brewing will expand its culinary footprint next year with plans to take over the historic Worthington Inn, reopening the landmark in spring 2026. The Columbus-based brewery, known for pairing inventive food with craft beer, will lead the next chapter of the 1831 property as part of a larger revitalization effort announced this week.

Rather than overhaul the Inn’s identity, the Wolf’s Ridge team plans to preserve what has long made the building meaningful to Worthington: gathering, connection and tradition. Their goal is to honor the space’s history while offering a refreshed dining experience marked by warm hospitality and high-quality cuisine.

“We’re thrilled to join the Worthington community and play a role in bringing new life to such a meaningful local landmark,” said Bob Szuter, co-owner of Wolf’s Ridge Brewing. “The Worthington Inn has always been a place for connection, and we want to honor that legacy while introducing a fresh, welcoming energy that reflects the heart of this community.”

The updated Worthington Inn will blend its historic architecture with a new tavern-inspired interior, developed in partnership with Flat Black Commercial Visuals, the design firm behind Wolf’s Ridge’s Understory location. The team aims to capture the familiar character of New England inns and English pubs while keeping the atmosphere distinctly local and approachable.

For members of the new ownership group, the project carries personal significance. “As longtime Worthington residents, we have a deep connection to this community and to the Worthington Inn,” said Jerry DePizzo of 1831 Ventures, LLC. “Reopening its doors is our way of honoring the memories and traditions that have shaped Worthington, while creating new opportunities for neighbors and friends to gather.”
