Inspection Findings at Bangkok City Restaurant

During the inspection, officials of the City of Dallas observed that the Thai food facility kept eggs at 50°F. Raw beef and vegetables were kept in the same storage space at Bangkok City Restaurant. Plus, raw chicken was stored right next to raw beef at the Dallas restaurant.

The food inspectors then noted that Bangkok City Restaurant had food items that were more than a day old and without any date mark. Additionally, there were unlabeled chemical bottles and Raid in the food prep area.

Additionally, inspectors noted multiple sanitation issues at the Thai food establishment in Dallas. Staff at Bangkok City Restaurant were working in the food prep area without wearing gloves. There was mold in the ice machine and food debris on the can opener.

Missing paper towels at the handwashing sink, sanitizer buckets on the floor, and dirty dishes in the handwashing sink were other observed violations at the Thai eatery.

Bangkok City Restaurant was using a wooden surface as a cutting board and aluminum foil as shelf liner. Discolored ice and mold were dripping into ice in the ice machine at the Dallas-based food facility.

Food inspectors emphasized the missing air gap at the Dallas establishment’s ice machine drain. The back door window was found to be open during the inspection, which could let in insects.

Bangkok City Restaurant will have to take corrective action as per the violations noted by the City of Dallas. While no date has been announced for a reinspection, Taking corrective measures in advance may help during the follow-up inspection.
