Exciting news for DFW foodies; decadent baked goods and indulgent coffee drinks are making their way to Prosper. 85°C, a concept that aims to replicate the quality and refinement of a high end cafe without the exorbitant price tag, has filed paperwork for a new Denton location, with work set to begin relatively soon.
The cafe and bakery will be moving into a renovated space at 5720 W University Drive, #10. Prosper locals won’t have to wait much longer to see the signs of progress; the forms submitted to the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation show that work is set to begin on the 2,600 square foot storefront on November 15 of this year. Construction is projected to wrap by January 15 of 2026, suggesting residents may be able to enjoy a cup of 85°C’s coffee or a delicious pastry relatively early in the new year.
Named after the temperature at which espresso brews, 85°C opened its first US location in 2008. The chain now has many locations and is deliberate in ensuring every dish is prepared with care. The website explains: “Today’s chefs at 85°C are skilled artisans who specialize in creating delicious tarts, cakes, and pastries by combining fresh ingredients with innovative techniques. Their commitment to craftsmanship and high quality ensures that customers enjoy flavorful, appealing treats with every visit.”
Guests at 85°C can choose from an impressive range of more than 50 pastries. Customers needn’t worry about a stale croissant or day-old Danish; everything is baked fresh hourly. The concept also offers a selection of savory options for those without a sweet tooth.
