Addison’s culinary scene is getting a new addition with the opening of Mexican Sugar on Monday, September 22. The restaurant will serve Latin flavors and handcrafted agave cocktails in a lively new setting.
Mexican Sugar to Debut a 360-degree Bar
The nearly 9,000-square-foot restaurant Mexican Sugar will debut a 360-degree bar designed for happy hours and gatherings. Located at 4951 Belt Line Road, the restaurant will also introduce the brand’s first wood-fired oven, which will prepare new menu items like Crispy Mexican Flatbread, Queso Flameado, and Hearth Roasted Coliflor.
“Addison is already a great dining destination, and we believe the new Mexican Sugar will add something fresh to the mix,” said Christine Magrann, president and COO of Mexican Sugar.
“This location brings all the energy and flavor people love about Mexican Sugar, plus a few additions that make it unlike any we’ve opened before,” Magrann added.
The Addison restaurant is designed as an immersive experience from the moment guests arrive. Guests enter through a lush courtyard that leads to a striking two-sided tequila display, setting the tone for what’s inside.
Inside, the hacienda-style atmosphere comes to life with leather accents, handcrafted tilework, distinctive lighting, and curated Latin artwork.
A Fresh Take on Latin Cuisine
Mexican Sugar focuses on fresh, seasonal ingredients for its dishes. Every dish is made from scratch, using a mix of modern creativity and traditional techniques. The restaurant’s tortillas are hand-pressed daily from heirloom masa, and cocktails are crafted with freshly squeezed juices.
The menu offers a modern take on classic Mexican dishes, including Angus Skirt Steak, Barbacoa Tacos, and Chicken Mole. Other rich options include Spanish Mussels and Bone-in Pork Chop.
Mexican Sugar currently operates in Plano, Las Colinas, Uptown Dallas, and Houston, with new locations planned for Austin and Frisco’s Fields West. Mexican Sugar is earning a reputation as one of North Texas’s go-to spots for Latin-inspired cuisine.
With handcrafted cocktails and a transportive design, Mexican Sugar’s Addison debut continues the brand’s expansion across North Texas.
