Mico Rodriguez, one of the DFW’s top restaurateurs, is preparing to prove that he’s more than just a Tex-Mex savant. The hospitality vet is turning his attention towards the next horizon-a burger joint called Big Daddy’s Burger, reports Culture Map Dallas.

The new concept will be launching as a part of the Maple Street Food Hall, located at 4711 Maple Avenue. Big Daddy’s will be joining three eateries that are already open and operational: Picazos Sushi Poke & Grill, Sal’s Pizza, and Rivera’s.

In partnering with Maple Street Food Hall’s developer Ray Quintanilla, Rodiguez looked to fill the void in the establishment, and to represent that which is still absent. Rodriguez states: “We felt like burgers were missing, so we will do a concept called Big Daddy’s Burger.”

A precise opening date is not currently available for the burger establishment, however Quintanilla predicts that Big Daddy’s may be ready to feed hungry locals this summer.

While a great deal of information is not yet known about Rodriguez’s latest endeavor, the presence of the venerable Dallas mainstay suggests the project will be a success. Rodriguez’s fingerprints are on several successful restaurants throughout the DFW. The local legend co-founded Mi Cocina and was instrumental in the development of Doce Mesas.

What Now Dallas has reached out for further information but has not yet heard back.
