Ice cream is, arguably, the best way to greet the summer; however a popular chain is preparing to show the DFW that a scoop of the frozen treat is an equally sweet way to start the year. Bruster’s Ice Cream, famous for its 150 homemade flavors, is getting ready to start construction on a new Fort Worth location and the store will likely be ready by early next year.

The ice cream parlor marks a new life for the 4560 Heritage Trace Parkway, Suite 500 storefront. The 1,478 square foot space previously housed Main Squeeze Juice, a relatively radical departure from Bruster’s frosty scoops.

Fort Worth locals eager to sample a cone or a dish won’t have to wait too much longer to mark the signs of progress on Bruster’s new home; paperwork filed with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation shows that work is set to begin on the project on July 21, and should wrap by December 22.

Founded in 1989, Bruster’s menu features more than 24 rotating flavors of homemade ice cream, a product which sets the chain apart. The website offers this delectable insight: “Bruster’s Ice Cream is made the old-fashioned way, with slow kettle processing designed specifically to create the Bruster’s flavor. Because every generous scoop is made in-house—just a few steps from the counter where it’s served—it always tastes thick, creamy and fresh.“

The ice cream giant has around 200 locations across the U.S., but only 2 in the DFW to date-one in Richardson and the other in Frisco. The upcoming Fort Worth location will allow Bruster’s to treat even more Dallas-area customers and significantly grow its local fanbase.
