Ahoy and avast, Tarrant County land-lubbers. Soon being land-locked won’t prevent you from enjoying your favorite seafood dishes. Captain D’s is bringing its distinctive brand of fast-casual seafood to Arlington later this year.
The restaurant will be serving up fish-focused meals at 1750 East Barden Road. Captain D’s is likely to begin feeding Tarrant County in the not too distant future. Paperwork filed with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation shows that work is set to begin on the project on May 20 and should be wrapped by August 20 of this year.
The restaurant, described as a “new construction”, will provide Captain D’s with 1,823 square feet to greet and serve customers.
Captain D’s fills a largely vacant aquatic hole in the crowded fast-casual market. The chain opened its first restaurant in Tennessee in 1969, where it was initially known as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers. The intervening years have seen a name change and massive expansion; the Captain now claims more than 540 storefronts across 23 states.
