Set to open sometime in early 2022, Wayback Burgers’ latest Texas location will be at 500 W. Whitestone Boulevard. It will bring about 30 new jobs to the area.
Based in Connecticut, the chain is known for its fresh beef cooked to order, old fashion hand-dipped milkshakes, salads, chicken, fish, turkey and garden burgers, and house-made potato chips.
Local franchisee Francisco Gonzalez is a former chef with a passion for food who decided to open a Wayback Burgers restaurant because of its fun dining atmosphere and high-quality menu items.
“I’m excited to announce the lease signing and entry of our Wayback Burgers restaurant in Cedar Park,” he said in a release. “I believe the Cedar Park area is a great fit for the brand, and I look forward to bringing excellent service and superior burgers, fries, shakes, and much more to our local guests.”
The restaurant will consist of 1,755 square feet and include a modernized kitchen with sightlines from the dining room, allowing customers to see their meat as it is prepared. The dining room will offer a variety of seating options including upholstered banquettes, booths, floating tables and community tables.
“We are pleased to continue the expansion of the Wayback Burgers brand in Texas with the lease signing announcement of our Cedar Park restaurant,” Patrick Conlin, president of Wayback Burgers, said. “With operations in 31 states and new restaurants extending our footprint nationwide, it is an exciting time to be a part of the Wayback Burgers brand, and we look forward to working with excellent franchise partners like Francisco to continue introducing Wayback Burgers to new guests.”
Despite the uncertainty and turmoil created by the pandemic, Wayback achieved continued growth in the first half of 2021. The hometown burger joint is one of the nation’s fastest-growing franchises and saw a systemwide sales increase of 38.8 percent and a comparable store sales increase of 39.42 percent.
