The DFW dining scene is getting a little toastier, thanks to the impending arrival of a cheeky sandwich brand. Cheba Hut, known for its delectable fare and its appreciation for an herb of a certain kind, is planning a new location in Fort Worth to be helmed by franchisee Chance Steed.

The chain has filed paperwork with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation to open its next DFW home at 9833 North Freeway, Suite 171. The submitted forms show that work is set to begin on the 2,800 square foot storefront on January 18 of this year. While a definitive timeline is not presently available, it is likely that Fort Worth diners will be able to grab a bite from the eatery this spring-construction is projected to wrap by April 26.

Cheba Hut opened its first location in 1998. The restaurant has found success thanks to its combination of delicious, craveable cuisine and a welcoming, chill atmosphere. The website offers this glimpse of what’s in store, certain to make Fort Worth stomachs rumble: “The menu features over 30 signature sub sandwiches, as well as a variety of Rice Krispy treats, salads and munchies. Most locations also offer craft beer bars that feature local beers from neighborhood breweries.”

DFW diners may already be familiar with Cheba Hut-the chain already has a presence in the region. The concept has seven locations open and operational across the Dallas area, one of which is in Fort Worth on 8th Avenue.
