A popular Tex-Mex chain is preparing to introduce itself to hungry McKinney diners. Chuy’s, already well-established in the DFW, is making its McKinney debut in 2026, reports Community Impact.

Chuy’s is setting up shop at 8405 West University Drive. The 6,600 square foot storefront will be complete with an outdoor patio for customers who want to enjoy the weather alongside their meals. While a precise opening date is not yet available, McKinney foodies will need to exercise some patience; Chuy’s is shooting for a late 2026 debut.

The Chuy’s team is certain the restaurant has what it takes to win over another DFW market. Hailey Fitch, the brand’s communications manager, states: “We’re excited to bring Chuy’s to McKinney and introduce guests to our one-of-a-kind take on Tex-Mex, featuring fresh, made-from-scratch dishes, signature ‘ritas, and our famous creamy jalapeno sauce—all served in a fun, eclectic atmosphere.”

Chuy’s entered the hearts and stomachs of diners in Austin in 1982. Since that auspicious beginning, the chain has spread to include more than 100 locations across 15 states. McKinney diners can look forward to enjoying a wide range of Tex-Mex favorites, including burritos, tacos, enchiladas, and-of course-margaritas.
