Chuy’s, the first name in Tex-Mex, is preparing to bring delicious dining and 43 years of experience to the Mansfield restaurant scene. The chain, now under the helm of the Darden Restaurants group, will begin work on a new neighborhood location this spring.

The fun and funky concept, which traces its origins back to Austin, will be opening its Mansfield storefront at 640 North US 287. According to the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, work is set to begin on the 6,579 square foot restaurant on April 14, 2025. While an opening timeline is not presently available, it is improbable that locals will be enjoying Chuy’s cuisine this year; the project is set to wrap on November 3 of 2025.

Founded in Austin in 1982, Chuy’s has worked hard to cultivate an eclectic and welcoming atmosphere. The food is, of course, the star, featuring a fusion of regional flavors. The website describes what diners can look forward to, saying “While we are Tex-Mex, our menu is made up of a combination of flavors, with recipes and ingredients from across New Mexico, Mexican border towns, the Rio Grande Valley, South Texas and, of course, Austin.”

Chuy’s expansive menu features a range of options including burritos, tacos, fajitas, and soups and salads. The eatery utilizes delicious, freshly made-in-house tortillas, and always cooks with carefully selected ingredients.
