It’s impossible to overstate the impact the humble burger has had on the American dining scene. The sandwich has captured our hearts and stimulated our appetites since the first beef patty landed on the first split bun. A popular Texas chain understands the enduring appeal of the burger and is giving Dallas residents another chance to indulge in the treat. Jakes Burgers-a DFW stalwart since 1985-is opening a new location in the Energy Square development later this year, reports Culture Map Dallas.
East Dallas foodies will be able to grab one of Jakes’ signature burgers and a frosty beer at 4925 Greenville Avenue, in the space that previously housed Grub Burger Bar. While it is not yet established when, exactly, customers will be able to stop into the restaurant, a spokesperson states that the eatery is planning a fall opening.
Jakes Burgers is owned and operated by MAD Concepts Group, and the hospitality vets couldn’t be more enthusiastic about the restaurant’s new location. Operating partner Kendra Shier states: “Greenville Avenue remains one of the city’s most iconic spots for the best dining, nightlife and the arts. For us, this is more than just a new location, it’s a homecoming, a return to our roots in a neighborhood full of historic charm.”
Like Jakes 12 other North Texas, the Greenville Avenue location will prominently feature a patio space, allowing the concept to continue its tradition of cultivating a fun and relaxed environment. The website for the award-winning restaurant explains what’s in store, saying: “At Jakes, we are committed to serving you the best quality, freshest ingredients possible in a FUN environment that has SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE. That’s right, we’ve grown past our burger roots & have created a great menu for everyone. We want to be the place everyone feels comfortable & welcome. Come as you are & tell your friends to meet you at Jakes!”
