Something big is coming to pep up Sugar Land’s social scene. Dave & Buster’s, the well-loved and wildly successful entertainment and dining chain, will begin construction on a new neighborhood location this summer.

The sprawling entertainment center will be moving into 19900 Southwest Freeway. According to paperwork filed with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, work will begin on the 30,631 square foot building on June 23, and will wrap by December 1 of this year.

The $5,500,000 will be a renovation, not a fresh construction. The TLDR forms describe the undertaking as: “Remodel of an existing building to convert it to a Dave & Busters full service restaurant, bar and arcade”.

The Sugar Land Dave & Buster’s will allow the chain to set up shop near its birthplace. The concept first entered the hospitality industry in Dallas in 1982. Propelled by a wide range of games and a menu full of pub favorites, Dave & Buster’s has expanded to include 156 locations.
