There is, perhaps, no more sacred a tavern than the Irish pub. The beloved European institutions have helped define the modern bar, creating a warm, welcoming community space for folks to gather and imbibe-or just hang out. Dallas’s own The Crafty Irishman embodies all of the best qualities of the Irish pub experience, offering a little sip of the Emerald Isle in the heart of the DFW. Happily, locals will soon have twice as much opportunity to savor the experience; helmed by founder and Irish expat Alan Kearney, The Crafty Irishman is gearing up to launch a second location in the not-too-distant future, reports Culture Map Dallas.
Dallas-area residents will be able to stop in for a tipple at 2401 Victory Park Lane, #190, in the space that formerly housed Dibs on Victory. There is not a definitive word yet on when The Crafty Irishman will be ready to greet guests in its new home, however the concept is looking to open at some point in the next few months.
Founder Alan Kearney explains that the new location is the perfect confluence of geography, demographic, and recreation, saying: “Victory Park has been on our radar for many years. It’s a community in itself, with a great mix of residential, retail, and office. We will absolutely be geared for the games at Victory Park. Sports play a huge role in any pub back in Dublin, and that same energy will be part of what we do here.”
DFW residents already familiar with The Crafty Irishman’s original downtown Dallas location shouldn’t expect a carbon copy; the Victory Park location will be larger and will include a second-story patio. Kearney adds: “This isn’t a copy and paste version of our downtown pub. Every community is different and has its own personality. But one thing that never changes is our commitment to genuine hospitality, great food, and that warm, authentic Irish feel.”
Fans, however, can anticipate enjoying the same general menu they’ve come to know and love. Future visitors to The Crafty Irishman can look forward to dishes certain to transport them straight back to the Emerald Isle, including Scotch Eggs, bangers and mash, and traditional Irish bread pudding.
