A do-it-yourself cake decorating studio founded by Food Network star Duff Goldman is opening in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. Duff’s CakeMix has signed its first franchise agreement to open at least three locations across DFW.
Franchisees Dr. Aliya Sheriff and Shairoz Hooda will develop the brand in DFW. “We are in the experiential retail business and when we saw this opportunity come up—it was a no brainer,” Sheriff said in a press statement. “We couldn’t be more excited to be the first group to bring this concept to Texas.”
The concept revolves around inspiring cake decorators to feel empowered by using Goldman’s products and ingredients in their own designs. Guests can book parties for either cake or cupcake decorating. “The world wants to create, the world needs to create, and more than anything, the world needs cake,” stated the Duff’s CakeMix website.
“We are very excited to welcome Dr. Aliya Sheriff and Shairoz Hooda to the Duff’s CakeMix family,” said Pamela Fazio, CEO of Duff’s CakeMix. “Texas is a dynamic fit for our brand and with our new successful franchise partners we know Dallas will be an amazing market for Duff’s CakeMix!”
Duff’s CakeMix currently operates two corporate locations in California. There are no specifics, yet, on when or where the Duff’s CakeMix locations will pop up in North Texas.
