F&F Japanese Grill is adding two new locations to the DFW area. The new McKinney location looks to open at 8390 SH 121 Suite 586 by the end of January 2024, followed shortly after by the Plano location at 565 Cost Road Suite 600 in March.
The Japanese hibachi grill’s name stands for fast and furious — yes, like the movie. Owner Jay Lim told What Now Dallas he hopes to attract a younger audience with a fast-paced environment, decorated with car-themed decor that mirrors the excitement of the popular movie franchise. He calls it “a motorsport theme.”
F&F’s footprint is already quite large in Texas, with locations in Highland Village, Denton, Frisco, Fort Worth, Cypress Water, Lewisville, Greenville, Addison, Irving and College Station.
The restaurant also has a food truck called “F&F Express” which mobilized the concept in 2016. Dine-in locations offer the traditional hibachi options, with choices of steak, chicken, shrimp — or any combination — plus fried rice and grilled vegetables. Vegetarian options include tofu and all-veggie plates. In a unique twist, F&F also offers hibachi salads, with a base of mixed-greens place of rice.
