An upscale Mediterranean restaurant from New York is expanding to Uptown Dallas.

Avra Estiatorio is planned for the The Crescent at 300 Crescent Court in suite 120. This would be the first Texas location for the restaurant that can currently be found in New York, Beverly Hills and Miami.

The menu features classic Greek dishes and seafood, plus desserts baked in-house. Guests can even choose their own seafood from an ice display. At Avra, “olive oil and sea salt, pristine seafood and vegetables are the stars.” The beverage program includes wine and cocktails.

Nick Tsoulos started the concept in 2000 in partnership with Marc Packer and Nick Pashalis. After moving to New York, Tsoulos was inspired to bring a taste of the coastal Greek village of Nafpaktos, where he was born and raised, to the Empire State.

Since then, the concept has developed a loyal following and established itself as a place “to enjoy beautifully prepared Greek food as well as a great time.”

According to plans submitted with the state, the estimated cost of construction on the nearly 14,000-square-foot restaurant is $7 million. Designed by the award-winning architecture and design firm Rockwell Group, the Dallas restaurant is expected to feature an enclosed glass café.

Avra is expected to open in Dallas in spring 2025.
