A burrito franchise that originated in Mexico will makes its debut in Texas in coming months. Crazy King Burrito is setting up shop at 4820 South TX-121 in Lewisville.

Crazy King Burrito franchisee Carter Ferguson told What Now Dallas that they hope to open in early September, but it depends on permitting. His Lewisville location will be the first in Texas for Crazy King Burrito. He plans to open 20 locations across North DFW over the next 10 years.

“I’m excited. It’s a great product,” Carter said. He first tried the brand while spending time with family in Cozumel, Mexico. During one visit, he spoke to the owner and suggested expanding the brand. Someone else had the same idea and opened the first U.S. Crazy King Burrito in Michigan about a year ago. Carter decided to bring it to Texas.

Crazy King Burrito has a couple of locations in Mexico, one in Michigan, Ohio, and Colorado, and another that’s set to open in Arkansas. The Lewisville location will feature indoor and outdoor dining areas.

The menu is full of burrito options. Some suggestions include the Asada burrito with juicy steak, Tinga de Pollo with shredded chicken, and Crazy King—a surf-and-turf burrito with shrimp and steak. Guests can also enjoy queso and guacamole with chips, as well as fresh churros.
