The home of Damn Good Tacos appears to be opening a spot in Forney. Torchy’s Tacos could open at 590 W US Hwy. 80, Ste. 592 in Forney, according to a recent project filing.

Torchy’s Tacos offers guests tasty tacos, frozen margaritas, and more. The menu features items that are made from scratch using fresh, responsibly-sourced ingredients. Each month, Torchy’s features a favorite with Baja Taco listed as August’s Taco of the Month. Other tacos include the Trailer Park with fried chicken, green chiles, lettuce, pico, and cheese with poblano sauce; the Crossroads is a smoked beef brisket taco with all the fixings.

Breakfast tacos, burritos, and salads are also offered. Extras of queso and chips, Mexican Rice, Juan’s Refried Beans, and Street Corn are great additions to any meal. The menu offers a full bar including freshly-squeezed frozen margaritas and other cocktails, beer, and wine.

The filing states construction could begin on the newest addition to the brand this fall with an estimated completion date in February 2024. Customers could begin dining at the fast casual restaurant sometime next spring.

Mike Rypka started Torchy’s Tacos as a food truck in Austin in 2006. Torchy’s Tacos has about 75 locations across Texas, according to the brand’s website, with others in Arkansas, Colorado, and Kansas, and other states.
