Scooter’s Coffee is set to open at 4425 Boat Club Rd in Fort Worth, according to a project filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.
With an estimated cost of $350,000, the coffee store will be a new building kiosk that includes drive-thru service. Construction on the 664-square-foot space is set to begin in June and be completed by September.
The forthcoming shop will be the first Scooter’s for Cowtown even though the brand has been trying to expand into the city for some time. In 2011, a multi-unit expansion agreement was announced for the development of 10 stores in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex. Since then, the brand has opened nearly 15 stores in the area including in Addison, Garland, Keller, McKinney and Richardson. A location has yet to open in Dallas proper.
Bringing the new Scooter’s Coffee to Fort Worth is Wendy Wells, an entrepreneur and self described “coffee evangelist.” Along with her husband, Brett, the couple signed a multi-unit agreement with Scooter’s Coffee in June 2020.
After doing research on the brand, the Wells’s felt the Scooter’s business model was in line with their vision.
“We were sold during Be Amazing Day when it felt like a close-knit family,” Wendy said at the time, per Franchising.com.
Founded in 1998 by Don and Linda Eckles, Scooter’s Coffee roasts only the finest coffee beans in the world at its headquarters in Omaha, Nebraska. The brand started franchising in 2001, and now has around 200 locations open and operating in 16 states across the country.
Its menu includes artisan espresso drinks, fruit smoothies, baked-from-scratch pastries and its signature “Caramelicious” drink.
