The Mitchell Bids Farewell After Years of Service

The Mitchell opened in 2015 in the Central Business District in Dallas, taking inspiration from lively bars in Chicago and San Francisco. On March 28, the restaurant announced its closure in a social media post.

“We are shutting the doors on The Mitchell, our last day of service will be Saturday, April 4th. We would like to thank all of our customers, our regulars, the service industry newbies, the industry vets, travelers worldwide, and most importantly, our staff over the years,” the post read.

The post, shared by owner Adam Salazar, also highlights the contributions of Chef Jodi Carroll and Kristin Fleming for their dedication over the years.

“We would like to acknowledge our Chef, Jodi Carroll, for her dedication, professionalism, and talent over the past 7-8 years she has spent with us. She is directly responsible for our longevity, and it has been a pleasure to see her grow and succeed throughout her tenure,” it continued.

“We would also like to recognize our very special Director, Manager, and Bar Staff member, Kristin Fleming,” it said. The posted noted that over the years, across all of its concepts, she has consistently gone above and beyond in every role. From setting up weddings to bartending busy nights next door, she has been a tremendous asset.

The announcement marks the end of a decade-long run for the popular Dallas spot.

Local Favorite Shows Appreciation to Staff and Guests

The post reflected on The Mitchell’s journey, highlighting the strong support it received from the community over the years.

“We have always had a talented front-of-the-house staff, and we were able to accomplish many brilliant cocktails over the years. A few of our BarPersons have even moved on to create their own bars, “ the post said.

“We are most proud of the fact that we were able to do it “our” way, to receive the recognition and support of not being so mainstream, not to mention building one of the biggest back bars in Texas. ‘Why would you have 200 Gins?’- Because we Can?” it continued.

The restaurant noted that it has enjoyed the love and support from the downtown residents, the press, and its fellow bars and neighbors.
