Pizza has long been a dish that captures the imagination and sparks innovation. The beloved Italian dish serves as a canvas for chefs, an opportunity to plumb the depths of their creativity, whether that is through topping combinations, flavor profiles, or base ingredients. Hungry Howie’s is bringing a different approach to Fort Worth diners. The chain will be cooking up its signature Flavored Crust pizzas in a second Tarrant County location, starting early next year.

The pizzeria will be setting up shop at 5601 Basswood Boulevard, suite 137. Though the scent of freshly baked pizza is still a few months away, the sounds of progress are just around the corner; paperwork filed with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation shows that construction is set to begin on the new 1,400 square foot storefront next month and should wrap by November of this year. Franchisee Eric Hoffer tells What Now Dallas that Tarrant diners will hopefully be able to greet 2026 with a hot slice; he states: “We are targeting opening right after the new year, pending the typical approvals from the city.”

The new Park Glenn Summit Center location will be Hofer’s second Hungry Howie’s in the area, joining a Keller store at 1320 North Main Street.

Hofer explains that the new storefront is perfect for Hungry Howie’s for a number of reasons. He states: “The location sits in an area that fits well into our core customer base and community minded focus.  We work hard to be a good member of the community, supporting schools, youth sports teams etc.  It is also within a strong proximity to our existing location which allows our team there to help support this store.”

Hungry Howie’s flipped its first pie in Michigan in 1973. The franchise has enjoyed considerable growth, ultimately becoming the U.S.’s 11th largest pizza chain. The concept can credit a great deal of that success to its distinctive crusts-as the website explains: “Elevate your pizza experience with unique options like Butter, Butter Cheese, Asiago Cheese, Ranch, Italian Herb, Cajun, Sesame, and Garlic Herb flavored crusts. These distinctive crust flavors add an unparalleled burst of taste that others attempt to imitate but can never quite recreate our original flavored crust pizzas.”
