A culinary revolution is coming to McKinney later this year. Kura Revolving Sushi bar is opening its newest DFW location this spring, reports Community Impact.

The chain will be debuting its conveyor belts at 8585 West University Drive, Suite 150. According to paperwork filed with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, construction began on the project on September 16 of 2024 and wrapped in February of this year. The 3,653 square foot space required relatively extensive renovations; the document described the work required as: “fit out of newly constructed 3,653 square foot lease space including: Partitions, (2) ADA toilet rooms, kitchen and equipment, MEP infrastructure, equipment and fixtures, furniture, and finishes.”

A precise opening date is not yet available for the McKinney Kura, however the restaurant anticipates a springtime opening. What Now Dallas has reached out for more information, but has not yet heard back.

Established in 2008, Kura Revolving Sushi bar lends an element of innovation and fun to the titular cuisine. The Japanese favorite is delivered to tables via conveyor belts, and diners have the opportunity to win small prizes as plates are cleared.
