King & Cardinal, a locally founded eatery that offers burgers, boba, and beers, is opening a third DFW-area location. Per lease intel, the restaurant is opening at 2587 FM 423, in suite 400 of The Village at Eldorado.
King & Cardinal currently operates a popular Frisco location at 14550 TX-121 which opened in 2018, as well as a location in Irving at 8350 N MacArthur Blvd which opened earlier this year. The Little Elm restaurant will be the brand’s third Texas location. When asked when it would open, a Frisco restaurant employee said she “wasn’t sure,” and the brand has not officially announced a date.
According to a Facebook post from July, a Cedar Park location is also in the works. “The construction is still in progress. So, watch…this space for opening dates!” the message reads. In August, King & Cardinal opened its first out-of-state location in Bentonville, Arkansas.
King & Cardinal takes an American classic – the burger – and gives it a flavorful Indian twist. Guests can choose from a variety of chicken, veggie, mutton, paneer and masala burgers. Wings, samosas, sandwiches, bubble tea, beers, chai, and thick shakes are also on the menu.
Owner Gopi Tokala told the Dallas Morning News that the restaurant gets its inspiration from his native India, where chicken and mutton burgers are popular street foods.
“In India, burgers are pretty popular,” he said. “I wanted to bring those same flavors here.”
