Chicken has been giving the burger a real run for its money in terms of fast-casual supremacy. The poultry has proven incredibly popular, due in part to its adaptability. The culinary scene has enjoyed an explosion of concepts focused on the bird-restaurants have been popping up focused on everything from fried chicken to Nashville hot chicken to chicken salad. Korean fried chicken has proven a particular fan-favorite, and a globally beloved chain is preparing to bring the phenomenon to DFW diners. bb.q Chicken has filed paperwork to open a new location in Haltom City, with work set to start soon.

bb.q Chicken is setting up its latest DFW home at 3940 N.E. Loop 820, Suite 150. The restaurant will be moving into a renovated 2,587 square foot space. Haltom City residents will soon be able to spot signs of progress; paperwork filed with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation shows that work is set to commence on the project on October 30 and should wrap by February 26 of next year-a positive sign for a spring of 2026 opening.

bb.q Chicken, which stands for “best of the best quality”, fed its first customers in Seoul in 1995. The concept now has more than 3,500 locations open across 57 countries.

Future regulars unfamiliar with bb.q Chicken’s product have much to look forward to. The website offers this tasty glimpse at what’s in store: “We fry all our Korean fried chicken in the traditional method. Hand brushed, hand battered, and fried at lower temperatures for longer periods of time. This creates our unforgettably crispy texture. Once tossed in any of our signature sauces, you’re free to enjoy fried chicken like you’ve never tried before.”

While the restaurant of course prioritizes fried chicken, bb.q Chicken also offers an array of Korean street foods, including kimchi fried rice, Ddeok-Bokki, and Mala Ddeok-Bokki.
