It is a rare and magical event when a concept manages to fuse originality, innovation, a sense of humor, and great food and drink into one cohesive whole. DFW diners have been fortunate to witness such an occurrence through the rise of Lockwood Distilling Co., Evan and Sally Batt’s unique gastro-pub/distillery hybrid. The dynamic duo are preparing to expand their empire with their biggest location to date, set to open in Garland later this year, reports Culture Map Dallas.
Lockwood’s new 5,000 square foot tasting room, located at 532 Main Street in Downtown Garland Square, will allow the Batts a greater canvas on which to realize their vision. In a press release provided to What Now Dallas, Evan states: “This new Garland flagship lets us do what we do best, great drinks, welcoming service—and add a broader menu and more room to linger. Think of it as the same Lockwood you love, just with a bigger living room!”
Unfortunately, sometimes when one door opens another closes. As part of this next stage of Lockwood’s evolution, the Batts will be shutting down their Fort Worth location at the end of September. Fortunately, the open door leads to a space that features “a full kitchen, elevated cocktail program, and private room for larger gatherings.”
Proving it truly is a gift to the DFW, Lockwood will be opening its Garland location during this holiday season. Follow the concept’s Facebook and Instagram pages for opening updates.
Lockwood has been wowing visitors and earning accolades since it burst into the DFW in 2019. The local legend currently has three locations open and in operation-its inaugural spot in Richardson, the soon-to-be-ersatz Fort Worth storefront, and another in McKinney.
Lockwood promises to bring Garland award-winning spirits and pastrami-what better way to cap the holiday season and 2025 at large?
