The sweetest things in life are often the simplest, and few delights trump the sweetness and simplicity of the humble milkshake. A popular chain is giving Dallas locals thirsty for an indulgent sip reason to be excited; the MilkShake Factory is opening a new location in the Preston Valley Shopping Center, though fans will need to exercise a little patience.

Franchisee Dylan Chatterjee spoke with What Now Dallas about the sweet shop’s upcoming 12835 Preston Road Suite 215 storefront, and why the location is ideal for the Milkshake Factory. “ The Preston Valley location is home to some long standing institutions like India Palace and Terry Costa.” he states. “With the abundance of restaurants, right off Preston, near a ton of activity, business, and schools, I felt the location could be easily accessed by families and enjoyed by everyone in North Dallas.”

MilkShake Factory has been delighting customers since 1914, and Chatterjee assures future Dallas regulars that the fundamentals that have brought it such longevity will remain unchanged. He states: “This store will keep the timeless milkshakes and chocolate MilkShake Factory is known for and look a lot like the classic stores from Pittsburgh. There may be some Dallas flair thrown in, but we’ll maintain the vibes and charm we’ve had for over 100 years.”

While MilkShake Factory is an established brand with a long life, it may still be new to many Dallas locals. Chatterjee offers this insight as to what’s in store: “MilkShake Factory’s menu features an assortment of indulgent milkshake flavors, including fan favorites like Chocolate Dipped Strawberry and Campfire S’mores, alongside handcrafted sundaes, molten chocolate cups, and housemade chocolate treats. Every item is made with MilkShake Factory’s signature ice cream, created fresh in store daily using the Edwards family’s exclusive recipe.”

Chatterjee explains that it is still too early in the development process to predict with any degree of certainty an opening date. He is hopeful for an early Q2026 opening.

MilkShake Factory will certainly bring extra sweetness to Dallas, whenever it opens its doors. The brand succinctly summarizes its approach and ethos, saying: “What started as a local sweet shop has grown into a beloved dessert destination, seamlessly blending classic craftsmanship with modern indulgences. Today, MilkShake Factory stays true to its roots in chocolate and its heritage as a family-founded brand, while bringing joy to new communities across the country.”
