More Southern comfort food is making its way to the DFW. Waffle House, not just a chain but an entire way of life, has plans for a new Melissa location, with work set to begin early next year.
The beloved chain and cult favorite has filed papers to set up its next Dallas-area home at the intersection of Milrany Lane and Highway 121. The forms submitted to the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation show that Waffle House will be occupying a newly erected building with 1,840 square feet of space in which to greet and feed customers.
Melissa Waffle House fans will be able to begin charting the restaurant’s progress relatively soon; work is set to begin on the eatery on January 1 of 2026 and should wrap by June 30 of next year.Â
Waffle House has been an absolute institution of the Southern dining scene since its inception in 1955. Fueled by classic comfort dishes, the chain now has more than 2,000 locations open and serving satisfied customers.
