First-time restauranteur, Syed Baber, is excited to bring a classic Americana-style breakfast and deli to Plano.

With a planned grand opening set for January 2025, American Breakfast & Deli will feature Northeastern breakfast classics like bagels, lox, pastrami, and American-style breakfast with a cajun twist.

“I’m a physician by trade, and have always loved cooking and eating,” Baber said. “I lived in Louisiana and in the Northeast, so I’m ready to bring a combination of classic American breakfast, meets cajun.”

Don’t mistake the concept for another Denny’s or IHOP; American Breakfast & Deli seeks to harken back to a retro-style corner shop where customers can enjoy authentic American fare.

Renovations in the 1,850-square-foot space are underway and should wrap just before the winter holidays.

“We’re not looking to franchise or grow too much,” Baber said. “We just want to be there for our customers to have a classic deli experience.”
