A new eatery focusing on pizza and wings will open soon in North Dallas.

Coming to 18484 Preston Rd., Adamo’s Pizza will occupy suite 101 on the lower level. The 1,995-square-foot end cap space was previously home to Dry Clean Depot and features a drive-thru. The location is a part of Preston Highlands Village, a shopping center that includes such eateries as Lalo’s Fine Mexican Cuisine and Giovanni’s Mediterranean and Italian Cuisine.

The forthcoming concept is from Dallas businessman and investor, Alan Talebi. An exact opening date has not been finalized but in speaking with What Now Dallas, Talebi says he is hoping for a late summer 2022 launch. “Progress has already started and we’re making good progress,” he said. “We’re just waiting on permits which could take weeks as Dallas is really backed up.”

Talebi, who was previously involved in finance and his family’s Dallas-based luxury rug business, is no stranger to the restaurant industry. He recently became a partner in Sky Rocket Burger, a sensationally simple burger concept that first opened in North Dallas in 2017 and is now expanding across the DFW area. And he has also invested in Vidorra and Stirr, two hot Dallas brands from hospitality group Milkshake Concepts.

“I’ve had my hands in culinary for the last few years, figuring out people’s tastes and wants and needs,” Talebi says.

Having gone to Plano West and been in North Dallas since he was 14-years-old, Talebi knows the demographics of the area really went. Not only did he land a great location for his new restaurant, thanks to his landlords, but he is excited about the whole concept of having a drive-thru pizzeria.

Preston Highlands is the perfect spot to open Adamo’s because that area, in particular, does not have a specialty pizza place. Sure, there’s Domino’s. But who’s going for a commercialized pie when you can get, say, a real margherita slice made with gluten-free dough?

Which is one of the options that Adamo’s will possibly have on its menu – along with meat lovers and other classics. The restaurant will also offer healthyish air fried wings seasoned with popular Texas rubs. For those looking for meatless options, there will be vegetarian and vegan pies made with plant-based Impossible products. Kosher is also being considered as an option.

“We’re months out so something might get added on,” Talebi says. “Side items will include salads, moz sticks and garlic bread.”

With the success of Sky Rocket’s simple menu as an example, Adamo’s will set itself apart from the competition with the belief that “less is more.” The restaurant will have a ghost kitchen setup with no dine-in and most services will be automated through tablets and kiosks. Guests will be able to place their orders online and then pick it up at the drive-thru pick-up window once it’s ready. Delivery will be offered through third party apps.

“We’re going to keep it really short, sweet, simple,” Talebi says. “The main thing is that it’ll probably be the first pick-up window pizzeria” in the area.
