There is something magical about a speakeasy; the mystery, the exclusivity, the sense of being in on a secret…these elements coalesce to create an indelible cool and charm. Hospitality veteran Emil Bragdon is making sure DFW residents won’t miss out on the experience; he is opening an invite-only underground tavern called No Vacancy in Fort Worth later this year, reports Culture Map Fort Worth.
No Vacancy will be slinging drinks for visitors at 2811 Bledsoe Street #200. Guests will gain entrance through a door hidden in a green dumpster. Locals won’t be able to impulsively decide to drop in for a drink; No Vacancy is invite-only but offers myriad ways for folks to attain access. Patrons will be able to make a reservation online, which will cause a code to be sent to them. Those who are confident in their love for the speakeasy can purchase platinum memberships which provide a year’s worth of access. Others may choose to visit one of No Vacancy’s sister concepts and charm an invite from a bartender.
Bragdon is hoping this will ensure a clientele that matches the bar’s vibe. He states: “We want a fun destination for the people who love and enjoy nightlife without all the negatives. People who cause drama won’t be allowed access or will be asked to leave. We just want a place where everyone is cool.”
No Vacancy will be opening in late July.
