DFW diners will soon be able to enjoy island flavors without needing to break the bank on a plane ticket. Ono Hawaiian BBQ, a family-owned fast casual chain inspired by the flavors of Hawaii, is preparing to open a new location in Rowlett, with an opening projected for early next year.

The 4510 Lakeview Parkway storefront is one of several Ono locations slated to open across the DFW in the coming days. According to paperwork filed with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, this particular restaurant will span 3,044 square feet. The required renovations-which began in September-are relatively extensive. The submitted forms describe them as: “New interior non-load bearing walls, ceilings, and finishes – new exterior paint & material updates – new equipment; RTUs – new kitchen hoods [(2) type-1] – new electrical, mechanical, and plumbing layouts”.

Even with such exhaustive work necessary, Rowlett diners won’t have to wait too long to try Ono’s delicious fare; the project is on deck to wrap by December 1, and the restaurant anticipates an early 2026 opening.

Ono’s was launched in 2002 and quickly earned a devoted fanbase. The chain has so far been limited to California and Arizona; the Rowlett storefront will allow Ono’s to introduce its particular brand of hospitality to a whole new audience. CEO Joshua Liang states in a press release: “At Ono Hawaiian BBQ, we’re passionate about sharing the spirit of Aloha with every plate we serve. Texas offers the perfect opportunity to introduce our fresh, made-to-order Hawaiian comfort food to a community that embraces bold flavors and the joy of gathering around great food.”

Ono’s menu features a wide range of options certain to delight every taste. Future regulars will be able to choose from dishes such as Kalua pork, Hawaiian BBQ Beef, and chicken katsu.
