Sometimes a meal is just a meal and sometimes a meal is an event, full of excitement and audience participation. A growing teppanyaki chain is preparing to infuse the DFW dining scene with an element of theater and thrill; Pepper Lunch, which invites guests to prepare their own dishes, is opening a new location in Frisco, reports Community Impact.
According to paperwork filed with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, the distinctive restaurant will be opening at 9180 Warren Parkway, Suite 150. Pepper Lunch will be occupying a 2,000 square foot space.Â
Pepper Lunch’s Frisco location will be helmed by franchisee PhilX Hospitality. Managing partner Phil Guo knows his way around running a successful restaurant; he owns three Jinya Ramen storefronts.
Frisco locals will be able to track the project’s progress this summer; Guo states that construction is officially underway, and he anticipates a late 2025 opening.Â
Guo kindly made some time to tell What Now Dallas about bringing the concept to the DFW. He explains that his first taste of Pepper Lunch had a strong impact: “I first experienced Pepper Lunch over 13 years ago during a trip to Hong Kong. The interactive, sizzling plate experience left a lasting impression. When the opportunity came up to bring it to Dallas, I knew it was something special that the market hadn’t seen before.”
He believes that Frisco has the perfect energy, dynamic, and demographic to embrace the restaurant. He explains: “Frisco is vibrant, growing fast, and packed with families and professionals who love food and experiences. It felt like the perfect launchpad to introduce the Pepper Lunch brand to Texas.”
Guo offers this sneak peak of what’s in store for local foodies: “Pepper Lunch is a ‘sizzle-it-yourself’ Japanese dining concept. Guests are served premium ingredients on a patented iron plate that lets them cook and season their meal just the way they like it — right at the table. It’s fast, high-quality, and a whole lot of fun.”
