An expansion is underway for Pie Tap Pizza Workshop + Bar. Two locations are currently in the works to open sometime this fall or early winter. Brandon Daguio is the Vice President of Procurement with Reach Restaurant Group, which manages the Pie Tap locations.
Daguio told What Now Dallas they hope to start construction on the Fort Worth location at 1301 W. Magnolia Ave. in the next week or two. “We’re excited to be breaking into the Fort Worth market.” They hope to open that location in late October or early November.
The Frisco Pie Tap at 4880 Eldorado Pkwy., Ste. 100 is in the permitting process and could open end of November, early December. Pie Tap currently has four locations in operation—two in Dallas, one in Addison, and another in Plano.
“We just have created a really strong base in the Dallas market, and whenever we open our doors in a new location, we’re usually welcomed with open arms. People are happy they don’t have to travel as far to go get our pizza,” Daguio said. They hope to open three to four Pie Tap locations each year across the DFW area.
The menu features a variety of pizzas, pastas, salads, burgers, and more. “Our brunch business is really strong on the weekends,” Daguio said. Each Pie Tap has a rotisserie. “That rotisserie we use on our salads, on our pizzas, and then obviously, we have a rotisserie chicken entrée, as well. We have a couple of burgers, a couple of chicken melts. It’s a lot more than pizza.”
Pizza and beer are a great combination, but Pie Tap also offers wine on tap. “That’s been a really great thing for us. We have about 12 wines on tap, and wine and pasta is a delicious combo or wine and salad. We have a lot of options for everyone.”
Daguio says Pie Tap’s crust, which is light and tasty, sets them apart. According to the Pie Tap website, the dough “is naturally leavened with a proprietary starter we’ve named ‘Romo’. This isn’t even close to an ordinary pizza dough, trust us.”
