Moak’s Family Texas BBQ announced its soft opening on August 21, 2024. Located in the heart of Dallas’ historic West End, Moak’s offers locals and visitors alike a true taste of Texas, blending tradition, flavor, and a dash of Lone Star spirit into every bite.

“We’re thrilled to bring our passion for Texas BBQ to this community,” said David Cole, vice president of Operations in a statement. “Every dish on our menu reflects the dedication and expertise of our team, and we look forward to sharing our love for BBQ with our guests.”

At Moak’s, the spotlight is on premium cuts of meat, slow-cooked to perfection until they’re tender enough to fall off the bone. Accompanying these savory dishes are house-made chips and fried pickles.

The driving force behind Moak’s is a team of seasoned culinary professionals, led by Jay Khan and his team, who collectively has over 70 years of industry experience. At the helm is Cole, a veteran of the industry with over two decades of experience.

Executive Chef Juan Sanchez, known for his work at The Liam’s Steakhouse and Más Street Tacos, collaborates closely with Cole to craft a BBQ menu that is both innovative and true to Texas tradition.

Overseeing daily operations is General Manager Hilario Casas, whose extensive background at RJ Mexican Cuisine and The Liam’s Steakhouse ensures that every guest receives top-notch service in a welcoming atmosphere.

“We chose the West End in the early ’90s because of its proximity to some of Dallas’ most iconic cultural attractions, including the Dallas Museum of Art, The Dallas World Aquarium, and Klyde Warren Park,” said Khan. “The rich history of downtown Dallas and the vibrant energy of this area make it the perfect spot for locals and visitors alike. The addition of Moak’s Family Texas BBQ to our portfolio is a tribute to our family, tradition, and dedication to culinary excellence.”

Moak’s is located at 302 N. Market Street in Dallas and is open from 11 a.m. to 12 a.m. Sunday through Thursday, and from 11 a.m. to 1 a.m. on Friday and Saturday. For more information, please visit moakstexasbbq.com.
