A new concept headed to the DFW is setting out to prove that double lives aren’t limited to spies and femme fatales. Set to open late next year, Henderson Avenue newcomer Romy will be a bakery and cafe by day but will transform into an elegant dining experience by night, reports the Dallas Business Journal.
Helmed by entrepreneur Tristan Simon, the restaurant will be opening at 2050 N Henderson Avenue as part of a mixed-use development intended to breathe new life into the eastern portion of Henderson. DFW diners will need to exercise a bit of patience; Romy is on track to open in December of 2026.
Partnering with Simon to bring Romy to life are business partner Taryn Anderson and Chef Matt Ford, who will be holding down the menu.
Simon has a history with Henderson Avenue -one he is excited to revisit. He states: “Romy represents both a return and an evolution. A more mature, soulful expression of dining that reflects how we envision Henderson’s future restaurant culture and Taryn and Matt are the perfect choices to bring this concept to the neighborhood.”
Romy will be serving bakery and cafe favorites in its 3,000 square foot storefront until 4 pm. The restaurant will be closed from 4 to 5 pm, as it switches over to nighttime mode. At 5, Romy becomes an elegant dining experience that is “American in identity” and “European in soul.”
Intrigued customers may find themselves wondering what precisely that means. Future guests can look forward to a sophisticated wine program, house-made pastas, and roasted meats. Taryn Anderson explains that the Romy team wants the restaurant and its cuisine to have a strong impact on the community, saying: “When we built restaurants on Henderson, it was a true dining destination driven by talented chefs and real hospitality. We’re bringing that spirit back—a return to craft, connection, and food with heart.”
Up to 80 guests will be able to dine at Romy at a time; a 1,000 square foot patio will offer al fresco dining in pleasant weather.
