Three Salata Salad Kitchen franchise locations are in the works for the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. The fast-casual brand announced earlier this month that Rachel Proctor, Mayor of DeSoto, will develop the new Salata storefronts in Midlothian, Waxahachie, and DeSoto.

Proctor is an entrepreneur who is devoted to developing the community. “In conversations with our community members, it was clear that people were looking for healthier food options that were closer to home. I have been a guest at Salata locations for years and have a passion for health and wellness in general, so I know the brand will be a wonderful addition to Midlothian, Waxahachie, and eventually DeSoto,” Proctor said in a press statement. The plan is to open the Midlothian spot first, sometime later this year.

Salata offers built-to-order salads and wraps, as well as soups, teas, and lemonades. There are more than 50 fresh toppings available—fresh fruits, vegetables, and proteins—plus, house-made salad dressings.

Founded by Berge Simonian, Salata first opened in Houston in 2005 to provide quick, healthy meal options to guests. The brand began franchising in 2006 and now has more than 90 locations in Texas, Georgia, Southern California, Louisiana, and North Carolina.
